Knee

We diagnose and treat everything from sports injuries to knee disorders.

Common Conditions

Knee Sprain

A tear or painful overstretching of one or more ligaments.

Symptoms
& Causes
  • A strong impact to the side of the knee or a sudden twisting motion while changing direction can cause this injury.
  • When the injury occurs, you may hear or feel a popping sound in the knee, followed by pain, swelling, and a feeling of instability as if the knee is giving way.
  • Meniscus Injury

Damage to the cartilage in the knee that functions as a shock absorber.

    Symptoms
    & Causes
  • his condition typically occurs when rotational force is applied to the knee, so it often happens during sports activities. However, in middle-aged and older patients, it usually develops without any specific trauma.
  • Nearly all patients experience pain, which may present as a dull ache throughout the joint. Due to pain and swelling, it becomes difficult to walk, and the knee may not bend or straighten properly.
  • Knee Tendinitis

A condition where inflammation occurs in the tendons connected to the knee joint.

    Symptoms
    & Causes
  • Knee tendinitis can be caused by sports injuries, overuse, age, obesity, or arthritis. Without proper treatment and management, the condition may worsen and lead to joint damage or deformity.
  • Symptoms include swelling or a tingling sensation in the knee, a grinding or creaking sound or feeling when moving the knee, and difficulty or inability to bend or straighten the knee.
  • Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Injury

The most commonly injured ligament inside the knee joint.

    Symptoms
    & Causes
  • It is known that approximately 70–84% of injuries occur due to non-contact mechanisms. These mechanisms include sudden changes in direction, sudden stopping combined with deceleration, landing with the knee extended after a jump, and pivoting on a planted foot.
  • After trauma, pain and swelling may occur, causing stiffness or a locking sensation in the knee, difficulty walking, and a feeling of instability.
